It’s definitely a tough bridge to cross. It reminds me of when I was a kid, and I was talking to my mom about how everyone feels sick after they drink a milkshake but it’s worth it because they’re so good. She looked at me and said, “I don’t feel sick when I drink them, what do you mean?” And I told her that every time I drank one I felt sick and I just assumed everyone else did too. (It turned out I’m lactose intolerant!) You don’t know your experience is different, so you don’t think to ask if it’s different. It’s just part of your life, and you assume it’s part of the lives of others. I agree that it’s tough to reach people who assume they’re dealing with the same experiences that others are. Raising awareness is at least a place to start! ❤️
